Lesson Policies

  • Monthly lessons fee must be paid by the first scheduled lesson of each month. Acceptable forms of payment are Cash, Cheque, Bank Wire Transfer (or ‘PayNow’).
  • If you are paying by Bank Wire Transfer (or ‘PayNow’), please make the payment by the 7th of each month.
  • All cancellations require 3 hour notice minimum if a make-up lesson is to be rescheduled. If 3 hour notice of cancellation is not given, lesson will be as charged.
  • Students are allowed one cancellation per month. Subsequent cancellations will be charged.
  • Make-ups lesson is usually conducted in the form of extended lesson, the duration is usually 10 to 20 minutes. For example, a 45 minutes lesson can be made up by 3 regular lessons with the extension of 15 minutes each time.
  • There are no “make-ups” of “make-ups”. If the student misses the make-up lesson, the lesson is forfeited. No refunds will be issued for student’s absences; however, a credit will be issued for a teacher absence.
  • One month notice is required to discontinue lessons and tuition must be paid through this one month period.
  • Although make-up lessons are provided (as stated above), credits or refunds are not given for missed lessons.
  • Note that your fees are not for the lessons per se, but also a weekly reservation on my schedule.
  • If you wish to suspend 3 or more lessons, while retaining your place as a student and your regular time slot, 50% of the lesson fees for that period is payable before your disappearance.
  • If you are not home, I will wait around the neighborhood. Please call me once you are home and the lesson will end as scheduled (so as to not affect other students). No-shows will be as charged.
  • The teacher (me) reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel lessons, though these are considered carefully to minimize disruptions.
  • Note that the lesson fee is subjected to the Practical Grade. For example, if your Theory is Grade 3, Practical is Grade 2, you will be charged based on the Grade 2 rate.
